5th Validation of Prior Learning (VPL) Biennale
Next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the 5th Validation of Prior Learning (VPL) Biennale will take place in Kilkenny.
This international conference, co-hosted by Canada, the United States and Ireland, will showcase international best practice in the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) under the theme ‘People, validation and power: democracy in action?‘
There was a call for submissions to share experiences, current practice and evidence of progress, and DDLETB were selected to deliver a Lightning Talk. Fiona Fay from the DDLETB FET QA Unit will showcase the RPL Toolkit for the Early Learning and Care (ELC) programme, which was developed in a project led by DDLETB for and on behalf of all 16 ETBs. This Toolkit has been praised as an excellent example of a collaborative approach to RPL as it is successfully used nationally.
About the VPL Biennale
Validation of Prior Learning gives visibility and value to all forms of learning and seeks to uncover and unlock latent talent in individuals the workforce and in society.
The biennale is an opportunity for policy makers, researchers, users, practitioners and other stakeholders involved in the development and implementation of VPL to share knowledge, ideas and visions of VPL, learning from each other’s experiences and creating viable solutions in the ‘VPL world’.
