DDLETB AES North West Welcomes Minister For Finance
DDLETB Adult Education Service North West were delighted to welcome Minister for Finance, Jack Chambers, at their Financial Literacy Awareness Event which took place in Draiocht, Blanchardstown yesterday. This event highlighted the key role Financial literacy and financial well-being plays throughout our lives. The Minister highlighted the importance of the National Financial Literacy Strategy in enabling people to enhance their financial knowledge which will help them to make better financial decisions.
It was a great opportunity to have all the financial institutions from the Dublin 15 community attend, which included Bank of Ireland, Blanchardstown Credit Union, MABS, AIB, PTSB along with other stakeholders from the community. The Event introduced the very successful Financial workshops which are being delivered by the Adult Education Service on Financial literacy and wellbeing. It also created an awareness of the difficulty some members of the community experience while accessing and dealing with money, banks, budgeting etc.
The event was well attended and established the foundations for further collaboration between financial institutions and the Adult Education Service. We look forward to continue to offer support to members of the community, to roll out Financial Literacy awareness and increase the delivery of workshops on this important topic.
